After the install of your WordPress blog, you can create posts and you will try to insert media files such as videos or pictures, but it is not possible with the basic install, the uploads directory is not writeable on the server.
The solution is to install WP Original Media Path plugin, just search it in the plugins page of the admin panel, install it, and configure a new directory, you can choose wp_contents/upload it will be created and writeable to upload media.
